This ain’t about us
Which is why this link is buried at the bottom of the site. But if you care who’s behind this effort, we’re Steve and Mark. Two dads, husbands, and proud Oregonians, who are fed up with all the political nonsense surrounding EVs.
The bottom line is that EVs are a better product for most people, most of the time. Especially folks who drive a lot. They’ve saved us, and all the people featured on this website, a lot of time and money. No more waiting at the pump. No more oil changes. No more money down the drain.
Do we care about the environment? Sure we do. But that’s not a good enough reason for most people to buy an EV. The math needs to work. And that’s why we started EVmath, a nonprofit focused on cutting through the crap and helping people make the switch.
That’s what this is all about.
our FOUNDING partner, Wy’East RC&D
The EVmath story started with Steve going on a drive with Robert Wallace, Executive Director of Wy’East Resource Conservation & Development, and gentleman operating the excavator shown above.
Since 1994, Wy’East has been helping farmers, ranchers, and rural small businesses understand and implement new technologies that promote sustainable practices, conserve natural resources, and support economic growth, including irrigation efficiency and renewable energy systems.
A few years back, Steve helped Robert win some grant money, and they found themselves needing to make a trip out to the coast for an event. Steve offered to drive. That meant Robert could sit back and enjoy the EV’s smooth, exhilarating ride. He was blown away–especially after doing the math and realizing how much money he could save in fuel costs compared to his diesel pickup. Two days later, Robert bought a used EV and hasn’t looked back. (You can read his full story here.)
EVmath was made possible by Robert and the Wy’East team. They know what rural communities need, and keep us city slickers from missing the mark.
